It’s a tough reality. A sad one. But it’s real.

Research found that access to finance, business competition, government regulations, marketing strategies and entrepreneurial skills all play a role in whether a business survives — closes..

OFF CUT Kenya

OFF CUT Kenya, one of my favorite, is an upcycling sustainable fashion brand that is on a mission to minimize the growing textile waste problem in Nairobi by breathing new life into thrifted, secondhand fabrics and offcuts from the EPZs.

Strategic digital marketing and storytelling support have played a key role in increasing brand visibility and return on investment. This has contributed to their expansion into seven retail stockists across Kenya, one in Germany, and a consistent presence at artisan markets in Nairobi and Berlin. They have also received recognition by NTV Kenya and have been featured in the Renaissance Fashion Show in Berlin '25 and Eco Fashion Week '24 in Nairobi.

Africa Collect Textiles

Africa Collect Textiles is also a circular fashion initiative upcycling old clothes into one of a kind clothing & home living pieces. They're on a mission to build circular clothing eco-systems in Kenya and Nigeria. By diverting textiles from landfills, they’re not only protecting the environment but also creating jobs and driving systemic change in the fashion value chain.

The project entailed amplifying the brand's messaging through storytelling —which resulted in deeper community engagement, more partnerships and stronger visibility across digital and grassroots platforms. The project centered on helping the brand be seen, heard, and understood in a way that resonates with conscious consumers and partners. This was such a wholesome project!

These are the beliefs that root me and my work.

Growing up, I loved reading — I always have. That love has shaped me deeply: not just in how I performed in school (earning a First Class Honours in Computer Science), but also in how I naturally gravitated towards marketing, communication, and well…telling stories.

The journey so far has carved in me a deeper sense of pace and purpose — to slow down, look both deep and wide, and move with greater intention in what I do, what I say, and the brands I choose to work with. Along the way, it's been an unfolding of growth, quiet recognition, and meaningful work I’m proud to share.
